GDT at TioT

Good Morning,

I am a tad late with this post but as I was writing it this morning I had a call from my Mum who has managed to fall over in the icy conditions here & we thing she has broken her arm. My dad has whisked her off to the Hospital but as she was out walking my little dog I had to go & pick her up. Hopefully I should know more about how my Mum is later.

Right onto why I was writing, I have been asked to be a guest designer over at Try it on Tuesday & the theme for this Challenge is 

Tissue

It could be a napkin, something you have made  with mop up tissues, stamping on tissue etc etc.....

I have stamped this vintage car stamp onto some Tissue Paper along with the sentiment & have added some more tissue behind the layers of paper for a bit more dimension. 

As this is a male card I do find ti quite hard to not over embellish as I do just love all the flowers & sparkle but sadly most men I know don't lol

I have coloured up Jammin Jayden using Copic Markers. I thought as its a male card that I would keep it CAS as I don't really have a lot of embellishments that aren't girly.

I did draw and fussily cut out some song notes to compliment the ones already on the image

All the papers are from a discontinued paper pad called Father Knows Best from Lili of the Valley. I have distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz tool.

(I have coloured my image mainly green & I have recycled an un-used wedding invite that I had left over from an order to make the base of the card)

I have coloured up Spells for Beginners using Copic markers & I have had a go at doing one of the techniques from the Kit & Clowder clothing class, Illuminated clothing. As this was the first time trying this I must say I was thrilled with the results.

I did have a little helper sat on me whilst I coloured in the form of my little dog Zosia. Not that she was much help as I couldn't move my left are as she had her head on it.

I have inked the edges of the wooden embellishments with walnut stain distressed ink & have added some natural jute mesh behind the image.

I am using one of the newer male digi's Gentleman George & I have coloured him up using Copics. I'm really not overly good with the whole male cards as you can't really add all the frilly glittery stuff that you can with female cards.

I went out & bought one of those old fashioned label makers as i'd seen them used on a few cards recently & really liked the look they gave the cards.

All about the Boys at Digi Choosday

Good Morning,

It's Tuesday so that means its Challenge day over at Digi Choosday & our theme this time is 'All about the Boys' so lets see your male cards. It's also discount day so pop on over to the Digi Choosday blog to grab your discount code.

For my boys card i have used the Pre-coloured Guitar Boy from WP8 who can be found Here. All of the papers & embellishments are from the full Work & Play 8 collection that can be found Here, 

I have also used one of the cut files from the collection to do the Rock & Roll cut out. I was very pleased that I actually managed to get my Cameo to cut this out, I only had to watch a couple of YouTube tutorials a few times and bingo there it was cutting away.

My poor husband had me running round the garden because I just had to show him what I'd got the cameo to do, it might be really basic but to me it was the best thing ever lol

GDT at Quirky Crafts

Good Morning,

I have been asked by the lovely Cazzy at Quirky Crafts Challenge to be a GDT for this week & of course I said Yes. The Theme for this challenge is 'Quirky gone Fishing' so anything Fish or Fishing related.

Use some buttons at Digi Choosday

Good Morning,

It's time for another fab challenge over at Digi Choosday & this time we want to see some 'Buttons' on your projects. Remember to pop over to the main Digi Choosday blog as there is always a little surprise waiting :-)

For my 'Use some buttons' card I have used the super cute Twiggy & Toots collection that can be found in digi format Here or CD format Here.

I have layered one of the journalling frames over the fab Reading, Wise words & Tea coloured digi that can be found Here & it has come out looking like he's been framed, I have then fussily cut round the frame. I have also used some of the papers that are in the collection & of course added a few buttons.

The frames in this collections are great for layering & you can do this without having to cut them all out & layer yourself. All very clever & something i'm learning more about as time goes on.
